Cute Big Sis/Lil Sis Gift Ideas

In addition to allowing submissions of Greeks of all ages, we've decided to occasionally post entries following much more traditional blogging format (much like Pinterest).

Do you, your big sis, your lil sis or any of your closest girlfriends have big days coming up? The first item of this variety will be gift suggestions for you and your sisters. Albeit a wedding, a birthday, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and maybe even mother’s day, the following may serve as suitable gifts:

We'll start with the basics:

Stationary & Supplies

Notebooks, cute pens & pencils, sticky notes or stationary are all inexpensive but necessary and memorable goodies for you & your sisters. There are certain websites that allow for customization on a number of products to make your sister's treats that much more personal.

Jewelry

Along the lines of more traditional gifts to give, necklaces, bracelets, rings and pendants are the perfect keepsakes for every sister. Select websites offer the option of gift personalization, whether it be initial monogramming or sorority lettering.

Accessories: Totes, Wallets, Keychains

Purses and totes, wallets, coin purses, keychains, laundry bags and coolers are all necessary accessories for each of your sorority sisters. What a perfect opportunity to promote your sorority's campus presence? Select websites offer the option of gift personalization, whether it be initial monogramming or sorority lettering.

Koozies

Quit shaking your head! Koozies don't just snuggle up to high-calorie beer cans, but also soda cans & water bottles as well. There's a wonderful website called Wrapsody (see photo below) that sells a wide variety of cute trinkets. They offer a line of koozies for 9 of the 10 LSU sororities. Coincidentally, the left out sorority is Kappa Alpha Theta. Cheer up, girls! Theta's national reputation precedes you, and there are dozens more sites that will serve your chapter. If there are certain beverages in which you do not wish to hold so close to your sorority's letters, you and your sisters could also buy LSU koozies to build your collection of LSU gear.  Websites like Wrapsody are listed below.

All Else

In addition to the many prizes above, there are a number of other items to consider as well. Sunglasses will always be a must in the south, and we southern belles must protect our delicate eyes. Cute sunglasses, and by cute we mean not gaudy or covered in tacky logos, can be found on many of the websites in the links below. The goddesses at Lilly Pulitzer debuted a line of darling iPhone cases. There are even iPhone cases for a number of sororities that feature patterns with each sorority's letters and colors alongside either their mascot, flower or jewel. Photo frames are traditional and heartfelt when containing a picture of you and your sisters. Wooden letters for your sisters' dorm or apartment walls are a quaint room sprucer-upper. Whether they be greek letters, your sister's initials, monograms or university letters, wall letters will be daily reminders to your sister that you care about her. Jewelry boxes are customizable and can be found at reasonable prices. (See links below). Other drinkwear can also be found on a number of websites.

Looking to spend a little bit more money? There are a number of brands that specialize in designs for each sorority.

Vineyard Vines Sorority Gear

Vineyard Vines is renowned for their trendy, quality prep wear at a hefty price. But, nothing says "I Love You" more than a high dollar gift. Vineyard Vines allows for special group orders for sorority patterned totes, but if the group order is not an option, basic patterned Vineyard Vines totes are still eloquent gift choices. Looking to channel your inner-Blair Waldorf while simultaneously sporting your sorority's letters? You're in luck! Because Vineyard Vines has a line of charming headbands for a select few sororities.

Lilly Pulitzer Sorority Gear

Lilly Pulitzer is the sophisticated Vera Bradley. That was unfair. Lilly Pulitzer can not be categorized alongside the now-tacky Vera Bradley brand. Lilly Pulitzer is celebrated for their tasteful patterns and exclusive clothing. The benefit of paying a high price for gear is that it minimizes amount of peasants sporting the same piece as you. Lilly Pulitzer also offers an array of items for a number of sororities. The first of the two photos below is a selection of the Phi Mu line, and the second is that of Chi Omega. These iPhone cases are to die for.

So which will you buy? For your convenience, the majority of the items found above will be found again on the websites listed below. The italicized links are the favored sites in groups of several links.

Customized items with your sorority's letters/colors etc. can be purchased on many sites, but the following have proven themselves most worthy to me:
GreekGear.com
GreekCreations.com
SomethingGreek.com

Monogrammed items (notebooks, necklaces, bracelets, wooden letters etc.) can all be found on the following sites (Unfortunately, monogram style necklaces are now being made cheap as dirt through a number of websites that will lead to the ultimate cheapening of this unique, tasteful fad. We will not be listing these knockoff sites. Peruse the web if you must.):
MonogramChick.com
TheMonogramDivas.com
TheMonogramStore.com
ThePinkMonogram.com
